The match started at 1.35pm. Wa Kwan won the toss and chose to play Black giving Noah the luxury of the first move of the Final.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After some tense exchanges and removals of Queens \u2013 finally at 2.15pm\u2026\u2026.. a STALEMATE was declared!!!<\/p>\n<p>Two options were offered: Share the Title or Reset!<\/p>\n<p>RESET!!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>Due to GCSE and A Levels from Monday \u2013 the only time was RIGHT THERE &amp; THEN.<\/p>\n<p>So off they went again\u2026..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Changing their playing piece colours, Wa Kwan kicked off the proceedings with a move of the Pawn. The game played out slightly differently this time \u2013 both players keeping their Queens intact.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It looked like another draw\/STALEMATE was on the cards (and definitely a SHARE of the TITLE!) and then Noah spotted a move that blew Wa Kwan\u2019s defence. From that moment it was a dig deep situation until it became certain that Noah would CHECKMATE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, a replay of 2025\u2026\u2026. Ended with <strong>Noah retaining his title<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An amazing final to finish off a great tournament<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To conclude:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seventy games of competitive chess had been played out with representatives of all year groups involved. Competitors of all experiences put their best Pawns forward and strategised to get to the next round.
